We had a brief reprieve from the storms this week, with some actual sunshine in between. Texas has actually finally been declared drought free after all of the rain we’ve had this month. We thank God for the wonderful rain, but still pray for those affected by the flooding that’s occurring as a result. I captured some video and pictures of the sunshine while I could, and wanted to share them with you this Shabbat. Be blessed as you enter in to your Shabbat rest this evening!
Yes, you guessed it, another video of the geese. They’re just my favorite! I love that they have chosen us as their temporary home, and that they’re so comfortable here. They’re beautiful and so much fun to watch! I found this great article on what we can learn from the geese, and would like to share that with you as well as you watch this video. I feel like this is a great lesson to learn with the times we are in, and God has beautifully illustrated it with the Geese, and how they really do operate in an apostolic structure!

Geese
It’s those stately geese I find especially impressive. Winging their way to a warmer climate, they often cover thousands of miles before reaching their destination. Have you ever studied why they fly as they do? It is fascinating to read what has been discovered about their flight pattern as well as their in-flight habits. Four come to mind.
1. Those in front rotate their leadership. When one lead goose gets tired, it changes places with one in the wing of the V-formation and another flies point.
2. By flying as they do, the members of the flock create an upward air current for one another. Each flap of the wings literally creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. One author states that by flying in a V-formation, the whole flock gets 71 percent greater flying range than if each goose flew on its own.
3. When one goose gets sick or wounded, two fall out of formation with it and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with the struggler until it’s able to fly again.
4. The geese in the rear of the formation are the ones who do the honking. I suppose it’s their way of announcing that they’re following and that all is well. For sure, the repeated honks encourage those in front to stay at it.
As I think about all this, one lesson stands out above all others: it is the natural instinct of geese to work together. Whether it’s rotating, flapping, helping, or simply honking, the flock is in it together…which enables them to accomplish what they set out to do.

Several weeks ago Sue had spotted a couple of baby geese out on the pond with their mom and dad. When I went out to see them with my camera, they were no where to be found, and the pond was flooding over in a ravine nearby, creating a waterfall. I worried that they had been washed away, because we never saw them again. However, today I wandered out onto the new land with my camera, and lo and behold, stumbled upon six baby geese with their parents! I was thrilled, and got lots of video and pictures to share with y’all. Enjoy your shabbat, and thank God for all the little creatures!

I’ve put together an 18 minute tour of the garden, so you can experience what it’s like in the spring time at different hours of the day. I have one more shabbat post for you with some pictures of the beautiful sunset in the garden last night (and a few photos from earlier in the day). There is so much beauty even in the end of a day, and it’s so refreshing and peaceful to experience. It’s something to calm the spirit, even as darkness approaches. It is just God’s little reminder that even through the dark, He is still there and still with us. Spring is in full swing here in Corinth, and the garden is absolutely thriving. I’ve been trying to gather photos of the garden at different times of the day so that you all can experience what it’s like at different times.
