Pam, we are on our way to Texas from Corinth, MS with the tree. BJ is just thrilled to have this huge magnolia in the Tahoe with him! Would there be a way to leave it at the Global Spheres Center tonight when we arrive? If we could just set it over to the side somewhere until tomorrow? I’ll be monitoring my phone for your reply. We should arrive after 5 pm.

Once you find the garden, just leave your precious cargo close to the garden and well off the driveway. I’ll be there bright and early Wednesday morning to take care of it! Bless you!
He calls His people a garden, because they are sweet and beautiful to His mind. He looks on the world, and it grieves Him to the heart—He looks on the little flock of His believing people, and is well pleased. He sees in them the fruit of His travail, and is satisfied. He rejoices in spirit when He sees the kingdom revealed to babes, though the wise and prudent receive it not. As in the day of Noah’s sacrifice, He smells a sweet aroma—and is refreshed. It is very wonderful, very mysterious! Believers are vile in their own eyes, and feel themselves miserable sinners; yet Jesus says, “You are all fair—sweet is your voice—your countenance is lovely—beautiful as Tirzah, lovely as Jerusalem, fair as the moon, and clear as the sun” (Song. 1:15, 4:7, 2:14, 6:10, etc.) Oh, the depths! It sounds incomprehensible and almost incredible; but it is true!
I remember the beautiful lilac in my mother’s New Hampshire garden. The common lilac (from the Syringa vulgaris clan) requires a pretty long period of winter cold, so I have never attempted growing them here. I understand there are some new hybrids called “Descanso,” so perhaps we can try one of those. In the meantime, we have some lovely purple-blooming plants, native and adapted, that do quite well here in the Texas heat, including the purple vitex and the Texas mountain laurel. We will be adding both of those this fall.
