A mezuzah is a piece of parchment, normally contained in a decorative case like this one, inscribed with verses from Deuteronomy 6 and 11. These verses comprise the Jewish prayer “Shema Yisrael” which begins with the phrase, “Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is One.” This particular mezuzah was a gift to the garden from our friends Norma and Martin Sarvis, who live in Jerusalem.

I visited my Jewish friend and all the Mezuzah’s in her home were at an angle, She didn’t know why , do you? I love watching gardens grow, this is amazing joyful,healing and so beautiful.No
wonder He liked walking and talking in the cool of the day. I’m sure He’s pleased for the place you have prepared for Him.

What is the letter on the Mezuzah? What kind of wood is it made from? I think it is wonderful! The garden was amazing and I loved hearing the shofars blown in the afternoon when I visited for the first time at HOTY. They blew them in four directions and then up to the sky and to the earth! I had never seen that done before.

The letter on the mezuzah is the Hebrew letter “shin” and is frequently inscribed on mezuzah cases. In this instance, it stands for the word “Shaddai,” one of the Names of God. The wood is olive.
