Change is in the Air

As summer winds down and we look forward to the cooler days of fall, I want to apologize for my absence from the Beulah Acres blog.  Many of you already know that Chuck and I moved to Corinth in August, and that is my excuse!

When our family returned to Texas in August of 2000, we moved into a house in north Denton.  For the last twelve years–the longest I have ever spent in one house–we finished raising our children, gave some of our children in marriage, and welcomed three new grandchildren, all in that typical Texas ranch house.  That house in north Denton is where we all watched and prayed through a fateful day in September 2001.  In that house, we said goodbye to cherished pets and welcomed rescued dogs who became part of the family.  Our family grew and changed a lot in that house.  That house echoed many times with tears, prayers, and rejoicing as we watched God deliver a beloved son from the grip of alcohol.  If a house could talk, that house would have much to say.

After Glory of Zion relocated to Corinth, Texas, in 2011, we knew that the day would come when our family would have to do the same.  While the drive from north Denton to Global Spheres Center was nothing compared to the commute many people make, we knew that God wanted our family to make a commitment to the community in which we now ministered and worked.  So, when we found the perfect house within Corinth’s eight square miles of territory, the path was plain.  During the month of Elul, with the King in the field, our family relocated to a new field.

On this, my third Shabbat in the new house, I choose to take a break from unpacking and say “Shalom” from Corinth.

Blessings,

Pam

Lovely post, Mom. That was a great house. It’s been seven years since I moved out to get married and get my own house, and then to sell that house and get an apartment in Brooklyn. Seven years is a cycle. Seven years is enough time to make a new relationship with a place. When I would walk into my old room, I would sometimes still see my deep red wall covered in crosses and the mosquito net cascading over my bed. But then, over time, I saw something different. A room where Sam and I slept one storming winter night, or where the cousin’s played together at a child-sized wooden table marked up with crayons and glue. Isaac’s room where he learned to cope. The room — the house — transforms from one use to another. Now, it will transform again, for someone else. I’m happy you have made this step. It’s a good step to take. It’s a signal for new things to come.

  4. Hi Pam,
I really have enjoyed reading your words on this blog. I do identify with all you have said. Our family has been much the same. Not bring I
One house for long, on and on. We have been in ministry for several years. We have traveled in ministry. Then Holy Spirit led us to upstate NY to start a church. We have now been here in this house 12 years. What you have said about pets, and children and grandchildren and now 1 great we have a grand son, I identify so much with your life. We are now a Church Of Zion and very happy about that. We are yet to come to Corinth to be commissioned. But hopefully at Passover. I do still travel in ministry and co-pastor with my husband. Thank you for sharing. Much love and respect

Shalom to you Pam. The Garden looks so energized and fresh. God’s creation is blossoming beautifully and the growth in the Garden, in all aspects is amazingly refreshing. It was so good to walk through this wonderful Garden during the deliverance weekend. You are such a precious lady. Much love, Maria

  10. God Bless you and Shalom to you from me. I too know how it is when moving and going through many changes in life. My heart goes out to you. But God is great and a loving merciful God that always comes through. When we ask him to show us , he does. When we ask to move us , he does. When we ask him to open doors for us , he does. When we ask him to move mountains, he does. When we ask for gifts and anointing, he gives. When we ask him to heal us, he does. There is nothing he can’t do. I Love God for never giving up on us, his children in Christ Jesus. I Love God forever for his unconditional love, forgiveness, peace, joy, hope, salvation, deliverance, protection and so much more. May God continue to work in your life and family’s life in the love you have for him. May his blessings, anointings, deliverance, salvations, increase over your life. Holy Holy Holy is our God Yahweh, Yeshua and holy spirit. God bless you and your family always.. I love to read your thoughts and messages to us.

Pam, I have a master-gardener question for you if you don’t mind, and I figured this would be the easiest place to ask you right now. A friend of a friend would like to know if Mexican sycamores can handle north central Texas weather. My friend (who recommended them is from southeast TX where I grew up) does not know, so I told her that I’d check with you to see if you knew so that I could tell her friend who lives in Burleson. Thanks for helping me out on this one! Let me know when I can prepare a pan of beef or chicken sour cream enchiladas for your family. I’ve been wanting to do that for a while but have been busy trying to finish preparing my home in Cleburne for sale. One more week should do it. Then it’s job search time here in Denton! Thanks again and blessings! Kay
